Hafa Adai folks! Let me be the first to congratulate all of
you for getting through last semester/quarter. So join me in a victory
cabbage patch dance led by our college stickman. Hey, no joke, college
ain't no picnic. You all deserve credit for getting this far.
I'd also like to wish you a warm welcome back to your respective schools.
I dunno about you, but as much as I enjoy going home for the holidays,
it's nice to LEAVE it sometimes… hehe. Kinda like a reconfirmation as to
why you wanted to leave home for school in the first place. C'mon.. I know
we all have them. Mommy screams loud enough for the whole neighborhood
to hear her, yet you're only some 2 feet in front of her. Dad tells you
to mow the lawn, yet during your whole time at college the only thing you
ever had to do with "grass" was 1) sprawling out on the lush, grassy campus
quad and reading Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath or 2) smoking it. And of course
that annoying younger sibling, still in high school still thinking they
know everything, still wishing you can just smack them upside the head….
But I digress!
Hey. Big thank you to those of you who have added yourselves to our
directory. By now I have contacted you personally urging you to spread
the word of this page and asking …. ever so nicely…. to contribute some
writing. And as always, I'm open to any ideas you might have on improving
the page.
Finally, for a lot of us, attending school off island unfortunately
separates us from our significant others back home, thus making the upcoming
Valentine's Day a drag. Hey, why don't you try meeting them in an Internet
chatroom? It's cheap! And I happen to know of a good one. In fact, it's
right here in this site. Just follow the link above to the chatroom. Simple.
Best of luck this semester students. And don't get too caught up making
plans for spring break that you forget to study. Believe me, I know from
experience. Peace.
