| Some words from our college guy....
Greetings to all you supposedly hard working, most likely homesick,
freezing your daggans off, sick of dorm food and/or ichiban noodles, fellow
college students. Welcome to the first ever installment of the Guam College
Student Network. It's purpose? Well, the good folks from Offisland.com
figured that we college students, being away from home and widely dispersed
all over the mainland, could use some help keeping in touch with other
Guam students and anything Guam related for that matter. I mean, it's hard
enough trying to keep in touch with our island when some of the people
around you either
For starters we have provided an online directory to see if, by chance, there is a fellow Guam student in a campus near you, or right ON your campus for that matter. Who knows? I always feel like the only Guamanian in the cold state of New York, but I know there's bound to be another Guamanian student nearby. [So whoever you are, bro/sis, fill it out fan! If you're close enough you can come over to my apartment and we haff barbeque!] But in order for this to work, I need everyone one of you to fill it out. All you provide is a name and an E-mail address [and a home page addy if you have one]. Another thing I need to ask of you are articles. YOU are my contributing writers. Tell us what it's like attending school in the Arizona desert, a metropolitan area like New York City, or even at some cold, yet cozy, state like Vermont. What's it like going to your particular school? Would you recommend it to a senior high school student on Guam struggling to find the perfect school to apply to? Our first contributing writer is Ben Guerrero, a student of San Diego State University. Ben has kindly relayed to us what he feels he has gained most in his mainland college experience. Thanks a lot for the well written article Ben. And Happy Birthday!! Well, that's it for now. I'm definitely open to any ideas or suggestions that you might have on improving this page. But for now, sit back, remove your shoes, and enjoy the page. Hopefully, with mostly your help, we can make this Guam College Student Network a success. Best of luck on your academic journeys, and I look forward to hearing from you all. Brian J. Que
