CLOSE UP FOUNDATION PROGRAM
By:  Juanita Naulde

The Guam Society of America and Guam Congressman Robert Underwood's  staff will be hosting a reception for the Guam Close-Up Foundation Students and chaperones (45 total) at the

St. Ignatius' Hall at Oxon Hill, Maryland
March 28, 1999 at 1:00 pm.

Every year in March, students from Guam high schools arrive in DC to participate in the Close-Up Foundation Program with other students from around the world.

Congressman Underwood's Office in coordination with the Guam Society of America's membership hold a reception for these short-time visitors each year  to our nation's capitol.

The hosts are provided a list of the names of the individuals in the delegate.  In the past, a number of GSA members were delighted to find long lost relatives.

Non-members who would like to meet some of the visiting delegate members are always welcomed to join GSA on March 28th.  However, all GSA members and guests are asked to bring a dish to the reception.

GSA will also be providing drinks and paper products.

For more information on this event, email "Pat Tenorio" pat.tenorio@fema.gov  or GSA President, "Lou Barrett" LQBLQB@aol.com
