[ A Look Back - Year 1946 ] [ Links ] [ Registry Locator ] [ back ] |
| Born and raised in Dothan, Alabama, my family was tight and hard working.
I was the youngest of five strapping boys. My parents and older brothers
always told me hard work would get you far in life!
I joined the U.S. Navy in 1979 as a Fireman Recruit, I recommissioned and served onboard the USS Belknap (CG26) until April 1985 when I left as a Second Class Petty Officer. I then reported to and recommissioned the USS Missouri (BB63) as a First Class Petty Officer in May 1985. I spent two years onboard the Missouri with a tour around the world. In 1987, I received orders to Recruit Training Command (RTC) Great Lakes in Illinois to become a Recruit Company Commander. I made Chief in 1988, at RTC, which was an outstanding feeling. While at RTC, I pushed nine divisions of recruits, serving proudly with each and every one.
A couple of years later, I married the former Jacqueline Ann SanNicolas of Guam and we have a son named Alan. I received orders in June 1991 to the USS Mauna Kea (AE22), my first
non-combatant. This was another good duty station. After three and
a half years I made Senior Chief Petty Officer. In June 1995, I received
orders to RTC Great Lakes for my second tour of shore duty for the best
kept secret in the Navy, BOOT CAMP. I pushed two divisions of recruits
and was placed in various billets of supervision from Ships LCPO (Leading
Chief Petty Officer), Basic Military Training Group Assistant Fleet LCPO,
Service Week Supervisor and to my present job as 2ND Fleet BMTG LCPO. In May 1998, I was pinned to Master Chief Petty Officer; this is the top for me. Well the only thing left is CMC (Command Master Chief Program), which I have been selected for. A more challenging job awaits somewhere. Send email to: Mmcmsw1@worldnet.att.net |
