What Independence Means
by:  Lori Ann Ungacta

For a young woman
it means a whole lot,
Doing things on her own
without having to explain it on the spot.....

For a young man
it means no worries,
He can be carefree
without any hurries.....

For a middle-aged woman
it would be a dream,
To be who she wants
and be able to join any team.....

For a middle-aged man
it means so much,
Eat what he wants
and touch what he wants to touch.....

For our elders
it takes them back,
To the olden days of yesterday
where there was no such thing as slack.....

For all our Veteran's
Present and Past it is a gift,
It was them who fought for our country
It was them who lost their lives and loved ones
It is for them that our shouts of glory
and thanks persist.....

We shall always be thankful and joyous
for the gift of freedom that
they fought so hard for, for us.....
Happy Independence Day
