Island Dreams
by Lori Ungacta

To watch the sunset
under a blanket of stars,
Is lik the taste of honey
filled up in jars...

To see the palms sway
on a windy afternoon,
Is  like eating tamales
straight from the spoon...

To hear the voices
of ancestors long ago,
Is like watching TV
of your favorite show...

To truly appreciate
many of the island's treasures,
Is like experiencing love
and many of its pleasures...

These and more
they bring you back,
To the island of GUAM
where the sun doesn't lack...

To see the pricelss moment
of how nature repairs at the seams,
Is like knowing firsthand
about my "Island Dreams"....
