Cornbread

Ingredients:
3 c. Bisquick mix
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. butter, melted
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1½ c. milk
½ c. cornmeal |
Preparations:
Combine eggs, sugar, milk, butter, Bisquick mix, baking powder and cornmeal.
Mix well and bake in a 12x8-inch pan.
Bake at 350' for 35 to 40 minutes. |
Mango Bread

Ingredients:
3 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. diced mango (ripe)
¼ tsp. salt
½ c. chopped nuts
½ c. shortening |
Preparations:
Sift four, baking powder and soda and salt. Mix shortening and sugar.
Add beaten egg. Add flour mixture alternating with mango. Add nuts and
mix well. Pour into greased loaf pans and bake in a preheated 375' oven
for 1 hour. |
Yeast Bread

Ingredients:
5 lb. flour
3 pkgs. active dry yeast
1 ½ c. Crisco
5 ½ c. warm water
1 tsp. salt |
Preparations:
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water and wait until it bubbles. In a large
bowl, mix all dry ingredients and pour yeast water and knead by hand until
smooth. Cover with towel for one hour or until double in size. Cut
into small pieces the size of a golf ball. Roll dough and cover for 1 hour
or until double in bulk. Place in pan and bake at 350' for 10 minutes.
Makes about 6 dozens. |
Carrot Bread

Ingredients:
2 ½ c. flour
3 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. vegetable oil
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
3 ½ c. shredded raw carrots
1 tsp. baking soda
½ c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
3/4 c. raisins
1 ½ c. sugar |
Preparations:
Makes two loafs.
Grease pan two 8x4-inch loaf pans. In a large bowl, mix together flour,
baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and nutmeg. Add sugar, eggs
and oil. Mix dry ingredients till moistened. Stir in carrots, nuts
and raisins. Divide batter between greased pans. Bake in preheated 350'
for 50 to 55 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes
out clean. Serve with cream cheese, butter or jelly spread, if desired. |

Ingredients:
4 pkgs. dry yeast
2 Tbs. sugar
2 Tbs. flour
3 c. warm water
10 c. flour
2 c. sugar
10 Tbs. shortening |
Preparations:
In a bowl mix first 4 ingredients and let it stand for 5 minutes.
In another large bowl mix the remaining flour, sugar and shortening. Add
the yeast water and mix well. Place in a warm place for about 1 hour or
until the dough doubles in size. Place dough in bread pan and bake in 350'
oven for 20 minutes or until brown. |
Banana Nut Bread

Ingredients:
5 ripe bananas, mashed
2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c sugar
2 ½ c. flour
1 tsp. salt
½ c. walnuts, chopped |
Preparations:
In a large bowl, mix bananas and eggs together. Then add flour, baking
soda, sugar and salt. Add chopped walnuts and continue to mix. Pour
batter into a loaf pan and bake for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350' |
Garlic Bread

Ingredients:
1 loaf French bread
1 stick margarine, melted
1 clove garlic
parmesan cheese, grated |
Preparations:
Rub entire outside of French bread with garlic clove. Slice loaf lengthwise
down the middle and spread with margarine. Sprinkle with cheese. Place
slices in 370' oven until crisp.
Great with Spaghetti and lasagna. |
Sopaipillas - Sweet Bread

Ingredients:
4 c. flour
1 T. shortening
1½ tsp. salt
1 pkg. yeast
1 T. sugar
3/4 c. water
1½ c. milk |
Preparations:
Mix flour,salt,sugar, and shortening together. Simmer milk and then
cool to room temperture. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Pour milk
and remaining water in batter and let stand for 10 minutes. Knead dough
for avout 15 minutes. Roll and cut into squares. Fry in deep hot
oil until golden brown. |
Tuba Rolls

Ingedients:

7 C flour
-
3 to 4 pkgs. yest diluted in warm water (follow directions on package)

½ C oil

2 ½ C sweet warm tuba

½ C sugar

2 Tbsp salt

Preparations:
In a large bowl mix all ingredients together. Knead well and set aside
to rise. Punch down and let rise again one more time. After punching down
the second time, form into balls. Let rise to form double the size. Bake
at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until brown. |
